A neighbor has a 1997 JD 770 Compact Tractor with approximately 210 hours, principally used as a lawn mower, that he has for sale. It has a 60" mid-mount mower, and a rear PTO that has never been used. He is asking $12,300. This is near Louisville, KY.Any advice you can provide is appreciated. Thanks.

Jake,Call your local Deere dealer and ask for the price on a 790, you will see quickly that the price is a little steep still. The 770 was the ' price fighter ' model and is still very easy on the money. Ask the seller about 4wd,tire option,Joystick?, Mid pto... these all make a difference. If you don't know what I am talking about ask that dealer to send you all he has on compacts, it's free and may help you out.Good luck ....

That price is Way High, I sold a 1994 JD770 with 95 Hours and the 60" midmower for 10,000 and I know that was a good price. Keep looking ....

if you have a jd mower that is $2500option plus you already have the mid-pto about $900 option. The tractor really needs the 4wd for workand a front loader. the nice thing is that being used for mowing the tractor is still basiclly new. If you have front loader and 4wd the price is not unreasonable. ....
